Paint and Clay Prints
Paint and clay prints can be the perfect gift to treasure forever. Our little people grow up so quickly, so why not capture their little hand and footprints for a lasting memory. We have a variety of pottery items that we can capture paint prints on, lots of examples to help with inspiration and we can personalise it as you wish.
Paint Prints
Depending on the size of your child’s hand / foot will depend on what we can capture your prints on. We will happily advise on what will work and what wouldn’t. Even if their hand or foot is too big to capture a full print we can easily take fingerprints and turn them into the perfect keepsake. We will also advise on what paint colours work best for prints, so to avoid any disappointment.
There are certain times of the year where we get very busy for personalised paint prints, so please allow enough time for us to capture your prints and allow at least 2 weeks for us to have the items ready for you.
It is better to book in to capture prints in paint especially if you are not confident to capture them yourself or if you require more than one item done as we can’t always assist if the studio is busy and we didn’t have prior knowledge of your requests.
Please be aware when booking that a paint specialist may not always be available, so please look for a day when one is in the studio to assist.
Clay Prints
Clay Prints definitely need to be pre-booked as we need to get the clay ready for the appointment.
We will always capture at least 2 prints taken in case there are any issues during the firing process. The whole procedure will take at least 6-8 weeks to complete. The reason for this is that the clay needs to be completely dry before it can be fired. Once fired it will then be painted up and personalised before it is glazed and fired again. We will keep you updated during the process, but please feel free to contact us for any updates.
With the second piece that is captured we will use it for display purposes unless you wish to purchase it.
Outprints
This is a quicker process to prints in clay. We capture your child / children’s prints in clay and then that is your job done. We then use plaster in a mould around the clay print to obtain the outprint. Once the plaster has set the clay prints are removed and discarded. We then have to wait for the plaster to completely dry before painting and personalising it.
We will frame all outprints due to fragile nature of them, framing is covered in the prices listed.
All outprints will be finished with a black background and silver prints. We will discuss with you how and where you would like any personal details displayed.
Please allow 2-3 weeks for the whole process to be complete. Completion times may be slightly longer if there is a high volume of prints coming through or we are in a busy period. We will keep you updated along the way, but you are welcome to contact us for updates.
